The year 2035 is not a happy one. Humanity has almost entirely disappeared, decimated by a mysterious virus. A few survivors hide in the catacombs. One of them, James Cole, is sent directly to 1996, the year of the cataclysm, in order to understand the involvement in the affair of a mysterious organization, the Army of the Twelve Monkeys. Cole also hopes to unravel the mystery of the dream that has haunted him since childhood: the violent death of a man in an airport.
