Vienna, November 1823. Antonio Salieri, an Italian composer, cuts his throat, accusing himself of having killed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Locked up in an asylum, this lost old man confesses to Father Vogler. Thirty-two years earlier, in 1781, Antonio Salieri was favored by the music-loving Emperor Joseph II. A renowned musician, he was the official composer of the Court.
