The Burnham family appears to be, at first glance, an ordinary American family. However, the lack of communication and frustration quickly lead to a total breakdown. The father, Lester, falls in love with Angela, the young and pretty girlfriend of his daughter Jane. Carolyn, the mother of the family, cheats on her husband with a real estate agent she admires. For her part, Jane gets closer to Ricky, the strange son of the neighbor.
