With this feature film, Fernando Trueba writes a generous ode to his passion for Latin jazz. An old passion, which has conditioned the director's daily life for twenty years. Through a mosaic of twelve musical creations filmed at the Sony Music Studio in New York, Trueba mixes colors, rhythms and styles. In the introduction to each sequence, he tells us with his voice and images the universe of his protagonists; the dreamlike thoughts of Gato Barbieri; the mural commented by Tito Puente, which brings together in the same imaginary orchestra the heroes of Latin jazz; the weekly meeting of Chico O'Farrill at Birdland in NY; the exchange of looks, modest and moving, between Cuban Chuco Valdes and his father Bebo, exiled in Stockholm.
