Actors take on roles in an epic that spans five centuries. A reluctant traveler who crosses the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited musician living a precarious life in Belgium; a journalist who follows a California governor named Reagan; a vain publisher who flees his mafia creditors; a genetically engineered dinner served on death row; and Zachary, a young Pacific Islander who bears witness to the twilight of civilization.
