In the 1980s, David Schultz and his brother Mark are world champion wrestlers when multimillionaire John du Pont invites them to his state-of-the-art personal gym to train under his guidance with his team, the Foxcatchers, in preparation for the 1988 Seoul Olympics; Mark accepts the offer immediately, seeing it as an opportunity to improve and finally step out of his older brother's shadow.
