We Own The Night
New York, 1988. A new type of narcotic has spread across the big city, causing the most terrifying crime wave in police history. With few men and few weapons to confront this new criminal order, the police must bury one of their own at a rate of two per month. An all-out war rages, dragging guilty and innocent in its wake. Bobby Green (Joaquin Phoenix) finds himself caught in the crossfire. The manager of a Russian nightclub in Brighton Beach frequented by gangsters like Vadi Nezhinski (Alex Veadov), Bobby keeps his distance because he doesn't want to get involved. Despite his hedonistic and amoral lifestyle, he is committed to his girlfriend Amanda (Eva Mendes) and dreams of opening his own nightclub and expanding his operations to Brooklyn.
