The Little Author The Child Martyr

Aurore, 13, witnesses the death of her invalid mother, due to the negligence of the nurse. The latter marries Aurore's father who, from that moment on, will suffer bullying and vexations from his father's second wife. Punished, beaten, burned, unable to count on a weak father, she died as a result of the unimaginable brutality inflicted by her stepmother.
