The Happening

A family flees an inexplicable, unstoppable event that threatens not only humanity, but also one of man's most basic instincts: survival. For Elliot Moore, a Philadelphia high school science teacher, the most important thing is escaping this mysterious and deadly phenomenon. Although he and his wife, Alma, are in the midst of a crisis in their relationship, they decide to flee - first by train, then by car - with Elliot's friend, a math teacher named Julian, and his 8-year-old daughter Jess. Together, they head to the farmlands of Pennsylvania where they each hope they will be safe from the increasingly furious attacks. But they soon realize that there is no longer any safety.
