Sy Parrish is a self-effacing and shy man who has been running the photo lab at SavMart, a big box store, for years. He lives alone, loves his job and is a perfectionist in the way he develops negatives. Hundreds of photographs, featuring the Yorkin family, line the walls of his home. For years, the Yorkins have been dropping off their films at SavMart. They are the epitome of the perfect suburban family and Sy can't help but follow their progress through the duplicates of their photos. But one day, Bill Owens, the manager of the big box store, throws him out. Sy soon finds a series of photos showing Will Yorkin caught in the act of adultery. Appalled by the behavior of this father, he decides to take action.
